Introducing Rusty MacLachlan:
Elected to office in 2020 Rusty MacLachlan serves as Greene County Commissioner District 1. He retired from a 38 year Custom Home Design and Build career. As a 7th generation home builder he has served two terms as the President of the Greater Springfield Home Builder’s Association, and twice served as President of the Missouri Home Builder’s Association.
Rusty has served on the board of directors for the National Association of Home Builders, the Springfield Traffic Advisory Board, Habitat for Humanity, Community Partnership of the Ozarks, the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, Ozarks Transportation Organization, Ozark Headwaters and Recycling, and previously the Housing and Interior Design Council at Missouri State University.
Rusty and his wife Julie, taught the senior high Sunday school program at Wesley Church for 30 years, leading countless mission trips and serving at summer church camp as well. Currently they serve in the youth department at James River West Campus, and hold weekly Life Group meetings for teens in their home.
A Kickapoo High School graduate, Rusty holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Missouri where he played football.
Rusty and Julie have been married for 38 years and are proud parents of four children and five grandchildren.
