Tim Garrison is the Executive Director of the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services and the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys. Previously, he was senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, where he engaged in constitutional rights litigation on behalf of individuals and nonprofits in state and federal trial and appellate courts across the country.
Tim began his career as a military prosecutor in the U.S. Marine Corps. His active-duty service took him to duty stations on the East Coast, West Coast, and Iraq.
In 2007, Tim returned to Missouri and served as a federal prosecutor in Springfield, focusing on large-scale interstate and international drug trafficking organizations and violent crime. He was awarded the Missouri Bar Foundation’s Appellate Advocacy Award in 2013 for his success before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Tim was appointed by the president and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri in 2018. There he led an office of nearly 150 prosecutors, civil litigators, and support personnel to become a national leader in prosecutions of violent crime, crimes against children, and drug trafficking. In 2020, Tim led Operation Legend in Kansas City, a landmark enforcement initiative that resulted in hundreds of arrests and prosecutions of violent fugitives, and which the U.S. Department of Justice replicated in several cities across the country.
Tim continues to serve as a colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve. His assignments have included a combat deployment to Afghanistan, national security roles in the offices of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon, and service as a judge on the Navy & Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals. Tim is currently a national security law advisor to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). His personal decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon.
