Casey Woods was named the 23rd Head Football Coach at Missouri State University on December 19, 2025, marking the first head coaching position of his career.
Woods brings more than two decades of major college coaching experience, most recently serving as Offensive Coordinator and Chief of Staff at SMU, where he helped lead high-powered offenses and contribute to multiple winning seasons and postseason success.
Before SMU, Coach Woods held roles at programs including Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas State, UAB, and Missouri — gaining experience developing players, coordinating offense, and recruiting at each stop. A former wide receiver at the University of Tennessee, he was a team captain and four-time Academic All-SEC honoree.
Woods and his wife Lauren are parents to five children and are eager to build on the momentum of Bears football and pour into the community of Springfield.
