Introducing Kelly Swan of Filling The Void Inc:
In 2003, Kelly befriended a homeless man downtown while working for The Williams Cos. The encounter changed the course of his life and prompted him to form Filling The Void – a 501c3 nonprofit ministry that has fed more than a quarter million people, launched branches in four cities and received two national awards for community service.
Kelly’s 25-year career in energy came to a crossroads in 2021 when Tulsa-based WPX Energy merged with Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy. He decided to “retire” at age 49 to dedicate more time to his nonprofit. Professionally, he was the spokesman for two Fortune 500 companies, served as a ghost writer and adviser to six CEOs, trained 1,000 people in crisis communications, received 11 awards for news writing and worked on a 2017 Super Bowl ad.
