Introducing Sherri:
Sherri is President of the Bartlesville Regional Chamber of Commerce. She was Director of Community Development for the Chamber from 1991-1995 and then returned in 2010. She began her present role as President/CEO of the Chamber in April of 2011. In January 2015, she earned her IOM designation, which was a 4 year program through the US Chamber of Commerce which required completion of 96 hours in organizational management. She is a 1986 graduate of John Brown University.
During her early years with the Chamber, Sherri successfully implemented the community’s first $10,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway to promote shopping locally and implemented the first Business and Home Show. She is still passionate about the importance of shopping locally and the Chamber runs a shop local initiative every Christmas season.
In 1996, Sherri launched a successful children’s clothing boutique, The Tailored Tot, and profitably sold the business after 4 ½ years upon the arrival of her second daughter. The venture has given her a keen insight into owning and operating a small local business.
From 2006-2010, she taught seventh grade language arts at Central Middle School where she developed and implemented the “Survivor” attendance initiative, which was regionally recognized and publicized in the Tulsa World.
In 2002, she chaired the Wesleyan Christian School’s annual dinner/auction fundraiser. In her four years at the helm as chairman, the event’s proceeds grew by over $40,000. She also led the successful effort to raise money for a new playground for the school.
Sherri is currently serves on the board for the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives and is past chairman. She also serves on the board for Bartlesville Education Promise and The Journey Home. She is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Oklahoma and a Leadership Bartlesville graduate of class 5. She also has served as president of the Green Country Pilot Club and Bartlesville Jaycees.
Mike and Sherri have been married for 37 years and are the proud parents of Miranda and Olivia, who is a senior at OSU graduating in May with an elementary education degree. Ther are the proud grandparents of a beautiful 5 year old granddaughter named Addilynne and 4 year old baby sister, Heidi. The best name she has ever been called is Mimi!
